Main Street Atmore, a designated community of Main Street Alabama works to strengthen Downtown Atmore through economic development, historic preservation, and community partnerships, supporting a vibrant and sustainable district for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Main Street Atmore envisions a dynamic and welcoming Downtown Atmore where the community feels like family, trust guides growth, and strong partnerships create lasting opportunity, prosperity, and pride for generations to come.
Main Street Approach
Main Street Atmore follows the Main Street Approach, a transformative, place-making, community-driven framework developed by the National Main Street Center to revitalize historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts by leveraging local assets and focusing on four key areas—Organization (building partnerships), Promotion (creating a positive image), Design (enhancing physical appearance), and Economic Vitality (business recruitment and growth)—to create vibrant, thriving centers of community and economic activity.
Main Street Atmore Foundation Board of Directors
The Main Street Atmore Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization that serves as the fundraising and charitable support arm of Main Street Atmore (The Program). The Foundation helps financially support the mission and projects of the Program through tax-deductible donations, grants, sponsorships, and other charitable contributions. Foundation resources are used to support eligible Downtown Atmore revitalization initiatives, including historic preservation, beautification, community development, educational programs, public events, and projects that enhance the vitality and economic growth of Downtown Atmore.
Main Street Atmore Board of Directors
Main Street Atmore (The Program) is the operating organization and is structured as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit business league. The Program leads the day-to-day work of Downtown Atmore revitalization, including planning initiatives, organizing events, supporting businesses, coordinating volunteers and committees, and implementing economic development strategies. It also serves as the membership organization, with businesses and individuals joining through memberships and dues. The Program is the organization that plans and carries out the work of downtown development.
Our Board of Directors is made up of dedicated community leaders who share a passion for strengthening Downtown Atmore.
